Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of stibiconite from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen consists of a dense cluster of stibnite crystals that have
been completely replaced by stibiconite in association with light yellow crystals of native sulfur and unknown whitish crystals!!! The sulfur crystals
are sharp and complex with fantastic luster and marked clarity!!! This specimen retains an old, unattributed handwritten label that lists the associated
species as sulfur and senarmontite - however, while there are an abundance of translucent whitish crystals in association, they are not senarmontite crystals!!!
The unknown crystals have a bypyramidal habit and are present both as encrustations and single crystals!!! Unknown species aside (those are just a bonus as far as I'm concerned)
- this is an incredible specimen from
an incredible locality!!! The pictures hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
