A terrific example of stilbite from Washington!!! This specimen consists of a lustrous and pristine stilbite crystal perched on a small amount of matrix in association with
calcite and mordenite!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen retains its original Pohl label with a rough sketch of the specimen!!!
Wolfgang Pohl worked in the mining industry in Namibia in the 70s and 80s and was a
prolific collector and dealer during and after this time!!! He would make trips back and
forth to his native Germany trading specimens he had acquired in Africa for worldwide
specimens!!! Pohl was rather meticulous with his labeling and record keeping with most of
the specimens in the collection having catalogue numbers, label with info on locale,
source/dealer info, acquisition date, and any other relevant notes!!! However, the most
interesting feature is that most of the labels also had a small sketch of the specimen on
the reverse side as well!!!
