Stolzite Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California 2.05cm x 1.25cm x 1.47cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A superb example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen consists of a pair of sharp stolzite crystals prominently perched on a small amount of matrix!!! The crystals display fantastically all around and have a slightly velveteen luster!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare species from California!!! There are also some small colorless, water clear prismatic crystals of an unknown species in association as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
