Stolzite Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California 1.81cm x 1.53cm x 1.4cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A superb example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, complex octahedral crystal of stolzite in association with several smaller stolzite crystals!!! There are a few cavities that host an unidentified yellowish mineral as well!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare species from California!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
