Stolzite Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California 4cm x 2.82cm x 2.72cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A superb example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen consists of a group of sharp stolzite crystals prominently perched on a small amount of matrix!!! The specimen displays fantastically and the crystals have a slightly velveteen luster that is quite handsome in person!!! Of course the crystals are highly fluorescent (blue/yellow)as well!!!
