Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were
identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently
that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom
seen on the market!!! This specimen hosts a large single crystal of stolzite prominently perched on the matrix in association to a
few other smaller crystals scattered throughout the matrix!!! The crystals exhibit a slightly distorted octahedral form characteristic
of the locality!!! Most of the crystals from this locality are totally opaque, however this specimen exhibits a small amount of
translucence on edge!!! Of course the crystals are highly fluorescent (blue/yellow)as well!!! Simply a
terrific example of this rare species from California!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
