Description/Interesting Notes:
A superb example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals
and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively
recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and
seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen consists of a complex grouping of sharp, pseudo-octahedral crystals
of grayish tan stolzite!!! The crystals have velveteen luster and some areas of slight translucence!!! The
crystals have highly complex features and upon close inspection one can see that there are some complex, colorless unidentified
crystals present as well!!! This specimen also fluoresces a lively yellow under SW UV with accents of white-blue!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
