Stolzite Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California 3.15cm x 2.2cm x 2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen hosts a large single crystal of stolzite prominently perched on matrix in association a few smaller stolzite crystals!!! The crystal has a velveteen sheen and some minor translucence on edge!!! Additionally, this specimen is quite fluorescent (blue/yellow)as well!!! Simply a fantastic example of this rare species from California!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
