Stolzite Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California 1.64cm x 1.11cm x 1.02cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A superb example of stolzite from California!!! These specimens were initially thought to be scheelite crystals and were identified as such for decades!!! Although they were found in the late 1950's and it wasn't until relatively recently that they were determined to be some of the worlds finest stolzites!!! Today these specimens are scarce and seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen consists of a showy cluster of conjoined stolzite crystals!!! The crystals are sharp and complete and have a slightly velveteen luster as well as some minor translucency!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare species from California!!!
