Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of strontianite from this historic locale!!! This old time locality produced what are considered to be some of the finest examples of this species!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, prismatic hexagonal crystal of strontianite!!! The crystal has sharp, highly lustrous faces and marked clarity!!! The crystal is complete and undamaged!!! Upon close inspection in person, the termination hosts a fascinating pattern, although it was difficult to capture in the pictures!!! These old time Austrian strontianite specimens are quite scarce and highly sought after!!! This specimen retains an old label from the collection of H.C. Van Tassel and is from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
