An amazing example of this sought after species!!! This speciemn hosts a cluster of sharp,
lustrous, undamaged apophyllite crysals atop sugilite crystals!!! It appears that there are
also numerous apophyllite crystals that have been fully replaced by sugilite and, under
close examination, many of the sugilite crystals appear to be skeletal remains of
apophyllite pseudomorphs!!! There are also numerous tiny crystals of ruizite in association!!!
There are significant, well formed, and intensely colored sugilite crystals on all sides of
the specimen!!! These pictures don't even come close to doing this rare beauty justice!!! Simply
amazing in person!!! Specimen came from the personal collection of a well known South African
dealer!!! PLEASE NOTE: These pictures do not even come close to capturing the INTENSE purple color that this specimen shows in person!!!
While these pictures show it as more magenta purple in color, it is most certainly a WILD and intense VIOLET - ROYAL PURPLE!!! Fine crystalline sugilite
