Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare large drill core section with native sulfur and aragonite from Texas!!! This specimen consists of a
large diameter drill core that hosts numerous broad vugs lined with lively yellow crystals of
native sulfur and white, bladed crystals of aragonite!!! These drill cores are extermely scarce since there were
likely only a small number to begin with and they were typically kept by the recovering geologist or given as gifts to
other geologists, petroleum industry insiders, etc.!!! Considering the astronomical cost of large scale exploratory drilling, it is
very unlikely that simlilar specimens would ever be prospected by collectors!!! This is older material that likely dates to the
late 70's or early 80's!!!
The sulfur crystals have complex, spikey habits with lively yellow color and marked translucence!!! The crystals range in size
to over 1cm!!! The aragonite crystals consist of small, bladed and spikey crystals as well!!!
Rare and unusual material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
