Sylvanite & Hessite Cripple Creek District, Teller Co., Colorado 2.64cm x 2.06cm x 1.62cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of sylvanite and from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of darkly colored hessite in association with numerous silvery crystals of sylvanite!!! The hessite is present as darkly colored metallic masses while the sylvanite is present as thin, elongated crystals included within the matrix!!! In addition to the large, prominent mass of hessite there are numerous small masses and grains richly scattered throughout the matrix!!! One can see juxtaposed crystals of sylvanite and masses of hessite on almost every side of the specimen!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that there is also some curious, unidentified telluride material present as some tiny, submillimeter crystals and masses in some areas as well!!! Rare old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
