Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of this rare gold and silver telluride from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
both massive and crystalline sylvanite in association with fluorite and quartz!!! A significant amount of the sylvanite has a
gorgeous, rich golden hue on its surface!!! Upon close examination with a scope, one can find a few micro sized areas of native
gold in association as well (one has to wonder if there is some possible gold alteration going on here in areas as well)!!! Additionally,
one can see several areas that host tiny crystals of purple fluorite and quartz in association with sylvanite crystals!!! There are
some micro areas where there are some significantly altered sylvanite crystals that are possibly pseudomorphs or another telluride species
altogether!!! This specimen is way better than the pictures show!!! This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineral Museum and
retains an old label from the collection of H.C. Van Tassel and affixed museum catalogue number!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 12th!!!
