Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of sylvanite from Kazakhstan!!! This specimen hosts a rich vein of sylvanite and associated species!!! The specimen has been cut and polished to further exhibit the sylvanite within!!! It appears to me that the specimen was polished in order to be further analyzed and it certainly looks as though there is more here than just sylvanite!!! Although the locality is just given as Kazakhstan, all of the notworthy sylvanite localities in Kazakhstan have interesting rare tellurides and associated species present as well!!! This specimen is from the collection of Joe Cilen and retains its original catalogued container (with a note that it was acquired from Forrest Cureton)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
