Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific, old time example of sylvanite from this classic Colorado locality!!! This specimen hosts several significant
areas of silvery sylvanite in matrix!!! In addition, the matrix hosts a significant band of massive rhodochrosite!!!
This is a very unusual association indeed!!! While I have seen rhodochrosite paired with tellurides from the historic Romanian
telluride localities, I have never seen it from Cripple Creek!!! This specimen retains an old label from
the Michigan College of Mines (A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum) and retains its old, original glass-lined musuem specimen box as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
