Talc pseudomorph after Quartz
Johannes Mine, Gopfersgrun, Wunsiedel, Fichtelgebirge, Franconia, Bavaria, Germany
4.4cm x 3cm x 2.87cm
Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of talc after quartz from Germany!!! This specimen hosts a group of quartz crystals that have been completely
replaced by talc!!! There is a single, prominent crystal that is completely and sharply terminated!!! In addition to the quartz crystals, there
are also some small talc pseudomorphs after dolomite crystals present as well!!! These specimens have always been highly sought after
by collectors and they are among one of the more fascinating pseudomorphs with talc - the softest mineral, replacing such a hard species like quartz!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
