Talc var. Steatite Pseudomorph after Quartz
Gopfersgrun, Wunsiedel, Fichtelgebirge, Franconia, Bavaria, Germany
4.03cm x 2.75cm x 2.37cm
Ex. Florence Mecke Collection
Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection
Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of this rare and sought after pseudomorph from Germany!!! This specimen hosts a sharply defined
single crystal of talc after quartz on a matrix of massive talc (var. steatite)!!! The crystal is complete, lustrous, and
upon close inspection one can see some striations on the prism faces!!! Classic old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the
collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and
there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer
collection this specimen was originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
