Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual example of tanzanite included with tsavorite from Tanzania!!! This specimen consists of a sharp single crystal of tanzanite that hosts an intensely colored, green tsavorite garnet completely included within!!! While the association of the two species is not uncommon, this is the first and only example I have ever seen where a tanzanite crystal actually hosts a fully included tsavorite crystal!!! In person, this rare and unique feature gives the specimen a particularly unique hue and appearance!!! The crystal is sharp, glassy, and complete!!! The crystal has intense royal purple-blue color and gemmy clarity!!! A small portion of the tsavorite garnet can be seen on the bottom of the crystal and is shows intense, lively green color!!! This specimen exhibits characteristic dramatic pleochroism, showing an intense bluish hue when viewed head on and a dramatically more purple hue when viewed on edge!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!!
