Description/Interesting Notes:
A superb, old time example of tarbuttie from Zambia!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of
solid, crystalline tarbuttite with just a small dusting of matrix partially included within the specimen!!!
While some fine contemporary specimens have come from Namibia in recent years, these old time specimens from
Zambia once set the standard for the species!!! This specimen hosts some significantly sized crystals for the
species, consisting of large, compound crystals that are intergrown and topped by groups of smaller sized crystals!!! The
crystals are sharp, lustrous, and have marked translucence!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition all around and
displays gorgeously in person!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare, old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen
PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to
come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was originally
from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 17th!!!
