Description/Interesting Notes:
An old time example of tennantite from Tasmania!!! This historic specimen is labelled as being from Gormanston (located on the slopes of Mt. Owen at
the shoulder of Mt. Lyell),
once a thriving settlement created by the employees of the Mount Lyell Mining & Railway Company that has long since been abandoned!!! The specimen
hosts numerous darkly colored crystals of tennantite in association with whitish dolomite!!! The matrix hosts a considerable amount of massive tennantite
as well!!! The specimen retains an old label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and has affixed catalogue numbers as well!!! The
pics hardly do it justice!!! Old material!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
