Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely AMAZING example of CRYSTALLINE tenorite from Russia!!! This specimen came from a very small find
collected at a volcanic fumarole just a few weeks ago!!! Volcanic fumaroles emit super-heated steam and poisonous
gases - collecting anything from a volcanic fumarole can be extremely dangerous!!! While tenorite itself is not
uncommon, it is usually found as massive ore with actual crystals of tenorite being very rare indeed!!! This
specimen hosts numerous prominent sprays of jet-black tenorite crystals scattered across its surface!!! The
crystal groups range in size to 1cm, with individual crystal lathes measuring up to 5mm!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope, one can see that the
crystals are actually comprised of elongated groups of thin, intergrown tabular crystals in addition to elongated lathes!!!
Incredible material -
don't miss out!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 30th!!!
