Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, 19th century example of thompsonite from the type locality in Scotland!!! This specimen hosts a broad spray of thomsonite
crystals on matrix!!! The spray of crystals is thick and significant, with large, sharply defined, lustrous crystals!!! The
crystals have glassy luster and marked translucence!!! There are some smaller sprays of crystals present as well!!! Upon close inspection one
can even see sharply defined terminations in areas!!! This specimen retains a historic 19th century label from the Vienna Natural History Museum as
well as an old, circa 1840's label from Ernst Baader!!! Ernst Baader was the son of Dr. Jakob A. Baader who had been selling minerals since
at least the early 1800's!!! This is a magnificent example of the species from the type locality!!! These specimens are very scarce today!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 8th!!!
