Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of thorianite from Sri Lanka!!! This specimen consists of a single, cubic crystal of thorianite with a small amount of alluvial concretion in association!!! The thorianite crystal has jet-black color and exhibits characteristic rounded, alluvial features!!! The small amount of "matrix" is very hard and dense, and hosts some curious unidentified materials as well (upon examination with a scope there appeared to be a few microscopic flakes of native gold, however at such a tiny size I am unable to say for certain)!!! This is classic, old time material collected prior to WWII!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
