Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of green tourmaline from Switzerland!!! These old time green tourmaline specimens from Tessin are extremely scarce and
only mentioned in old literature!!! This specimen hosts a single, undamaged crystal of lively green tourmaline in a
bright, slightly sparkly matrix of white dolomite!!! The tourmaline crystal is complete, pristine, and sharply terminated!!! The crystal is gemmy and has a
lively grass green color!!! Interestingly, the crystal has exceptionally glassy luster on its broad face - so much so that it is recognizeably unique in person!!!
(Curiously, this was one of the indicators for the newly discovered fluor-elbaites from Brazil)!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Lord Calvert
collection, which was dispersed through legendary dealer Martin Ehrmann prior to WWII!!! The pics hardly do this specimen justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
