Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of tourmaline from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a sharp single crystal of tourmaline!!! The
crystal has glassy luster, gemmy clarity, and lively blue-green color!!! Upon close examination one can see that this specimen
has a core of lighter colored tourmaline that occupies the lower two thirds of the crystal, followed by a zone of slightly darker
blue green color near the termination (picture a watermelon tourmaline where the pink zone is replaced by almost
colorless tourmaline)!!! The termination is undamaged and shows a curious pattern that almost looks like crackled glaze - however upon
close examination one can see that each complex face has microscopic crystalline feaures!!! Upon viewing down the c-axis one can
see that there are numerous triangle-shaped zones of varying shades fo green - a very curious feature indeed!!!
Simply a fantastic and unique example of this esteemed gem species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
