Description/Interesting Notes:
An extraordinary example of this rare species on a showy crystal of gem tourmaline from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a long, gem-clean crystal of
deep blue green tourmaline that hosts a magnificent showing of zanazziite!!! The zanazziite crystals are present as balls of highly lustrous tan colored crystals as well as
thin crusts of gemmy tabular crystals!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that all of the individual zanazziite crystals are razor-sharp, highly lustrous, tabular crystals with fantastic, gemmy clarity!!!
This is a killer example of the species indeed!!! The tourmaline crystal is incomplete on one end and the other is completely covered by zanazziite crystals!!! The tourmaline crystal is gem clean throughout and the color is much better than the pics show!!! The tourmaline crystal has bright
glassy luster and is believed to be fluor-elbaite, a new F-dominant analogue of elbaite!!!
The pics don't even come close to doing this incredible combination justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
