Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding, rare locality example of tourmaline from Canada!!! This specimen hosts a large single crystal of multicolor tourmaline prominently
perched on matrix!!! The crystal has glassy luster and marked clarity, ranging from translucent to near gemmy in small areas!!! This is an old, rare locality specimen - however
what is most striking about it is its unique, multicolored appearance!!! The crystal grades from olive greenish to reddish from top to bottom, with black to indigo edges on
both sides but the most unusual feature is that there are numerous fissures
that run perpendicular through the crystal and these fissures have a distinct bluish color!!!
Upon seeing it in person the overall coloration and variety of hues were immediately recognizeable as something unique and unlike tourmaline from any other
locality that I can think of!!! The pictures simply don't capture how intruigingly unique it is!!! This rare old time specimen retains an old unattributed label as well
as Beres' catalogue number detail!!! The pics hardly do it justice - must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
