Tourmaline San Piero in Campo, Campo nell'Elba, Elba Island, Livorno Province, Tuscany, Italy 1.54cm x .3cm x .26cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of elbaite tourmaline from the type locality - Elba Island in Italy!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, single gem crystal of elbaite tourmaline!!! The crystal has lovely, slightly bluish, light green color with a termination that has a distinct band of darker green color as well!!! The crystal is gem clear with sharp faces and glassy luster!!! The crystal is complete, undamaged, and has a complex termination!!! This specimen came from old, institutional stock and likely dates to the late 19th or early 20th century!!! This specimen retains an antique cork-stoppered glass vial and old label!!! This is a gorgeous crystal for the locality!!! In person, it is immediately apparent that the crystal has a characteristically different color palate and form than other more common localities!!! Classic material!!!
