Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of this unusual form of emerald from Colombia!!! This specimen consists of a single complex emerald
crystal that exhibits the rare and curious "trapiche" habit!!! "Trapiche" emeralds are so named because of their resemblance to the grinding
wheels found in the region's sugar cane mills!!! This specimen is a complete trapiche, with all six sides present!!! The crystal
has a very unique appearance, with curiously curved prism faces!!! At first I thought this specimen was possibly polished this way, however this is a COMPLETELY natural
feature!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope it is immediately apparent that these are natural features!!! The specien has rich emerald green color and
marked clarity throughout!!! This specimen retains significant gem value as well as specimen value and is complete and natural all around!!!
The pics simply do not capture just how good this specimen is in person!!! Simply a fantastic example of this rare and sought after
emerald varietal!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 25th!!!
