Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this prized gem garnet species from Tanzania!!! This specimen consists of a pair of lustrous diopside crystals
that serve as a matrix for a pair of unique, gemmy tsavorite garnet crystals!!! The tsavorite garnet crystals have a rich mint green color - it was difficult
to capture in the pictures but it is much better in person!!! The crystals are sharp and undamaged with gemmy clarity and
lively play of light within!!! One amazing feature of these tsavorite garnet crystals is that they have handsomely modified habits that show alternating
luster on selective faces!!! Basically, the faces with glassy luster form cross-like patterns on the crystals - a VERY cool feature indeed!!! This
feature is sharply exhibited all the way around both crystals!!! The diopside crystals have sharp, complex habits with glassy luster
and marked clarity!!! Additionally, this specimen shows impressive fluorescence as well, with the tsavorite garnets exhibiting a bright
orange fluorescence under SW UV (the fluorescence is much more intense than the pics show) and the diopside crystals exhibiting areas
of bluish fluorescence within!!! This striking gem displays magnificently all around and is way better than the pics show!!! Simply
gorgeous in person!!!
