Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of tulameenite with native platinum and native gold from the type locale in Canada!!! Tulameenite is a rare
platinum copper iron alloy and this specimen is primarily comprised of tulameenite intergrown with native platinum AND native gold!!! The
specimen has been polished on one face to allow for analytical confirmation while the remainder exhibits the typical alluvial features!!!
The specimen also shows significant magnetism, which is characteristic of tulameenite!!! While the native platinum is
complexly intergrown with the tulameenite, the native gold appears to consist of fused and integrated epitaxial discs!!! There is a lot more detail to see upon
close inspection with a loupe or scope!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the
upcoming days and weeks!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
