Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of monazite from Switzerland!!! This specimen's broad face hosts juxtaposed quartz points
with numerous, small yet pristine crystals of monazite scattered among them!!! The monazite crystals range in size up to 2mm and have
razor-sharp faces with bright glassy luster, gem clarity, and intense orange color!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or
scope one can see that these crystals are of amazing quality indeed!!! This specimen retains old labels from A.E. Foote and
the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum as well!!! The old labels identify the species as "turnerite" which is an antiquated term for monazite!!!
Simply a fantastic example of the species for the locality!!! Classic old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 5th!!!
