Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent, old time example of monazite from Switzerland!!! This specimen consists of a complex, tabular quartz crystal that hosts a
fantastic single crystal of monazite prominently perched upon it!!! The quartz crystal is sharp, glassy, and gemmy with some ball-like
clinochlore crystals and tiny rutile crystals in association (both on the clinochlore and included within the quartz)!!!
The monazite crystal is present as a sharp, glassy, gemmy crystal that measures 3mm!!! The crystal is complete and
exhibits marked color change from a distinct orange under incandescent light to a rich, lively yellow under
full spectrum fluorescent or sunlight!!! Simply a magnificent example of the species for the locality!!! This
specimen is in fantastic condition all around and displays terrifically in person!!! This speicmen is
from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and the collection of L.L. Hubbard (1849-1933) as well!!! This specimen
retains its original museum label with Hubbard Collection notation!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
