Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding example of rare crystalline turquoise from Virginia!!! While massive turquoise is a well known
ornamental gemstone, examples of crystalline turquoise are extremely rare in comparison!!! Occuring in just a few
localities worldwide, the specimens from the Bishop Mine in Virginia represent some of the finest known
examples!!! This specimen consists of a particularly fine showing of crystalline turquoise on a characteristic
schist matrix!!! The turquoise is present as prominent balls of intergrown crystals that exhibit a striking turquoise color and
marked translucence!!! The crystals have a sparkly, glassy luster and have a wonderful, glowing translucence!!! Upon
close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that individual crystals have sharp, glassy faces, and marked clarity!!!
This specimen has stunning color and a rich showing of particularly robust crystals!!! Simply a killer example of this
highly sought after rarity!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition all around and displays magnificently in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
