An absolutely extraordinary example of rare, crystalline turquoise from Virginia!!! This unique specimen came from a single pocket encountered sometime in the 1950's that
produced these characteristic specimens loaded with "balls" of crystals!!! This specimen consists of a very rigid, vuggy matrix that hosts numerous balls
of intensly colored balls of turquoise crystals!!! There is also some association with muscovite, as is characteristic of the locality - and in some cases there
are even turquoise crystals completely included within the muscovite!!! This specimen displays incredibly from just about every side, with one side showing several flattened
planes of darkly colored matrix that host a smartly contrasting coverage of crystalline balls of turquoise - while the other side hosts what appear to be a
dense "pile" of balls and clusters that look like bunches of grapes!!! This specimen needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated - it is
one of the most impressive and unique Virginia turquoise specimens I have ever seen!!! This specimen was acquired in an old collection and its old price tag was well into the hundreds!!! This specimen is
an absolute killer!!! The color and overall aesthetics are way better than these pictures convey!!! These pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
