This specimen consists of a schist matrix that hosts a broad face nearly covered with intensely colored crystalline turquoise!!! The turquoise crystals are present as a dense network of intergrown rosettes of bladed crystals!!! This specimen is absolutely magnificent for the locality!!! The crystals have particularly intense color with sparkling luster and marked translucence!!! While turquoise is a well known gemstone, examples of crystalline turquoise are quite rare - occuring from just a few localities worldwide!!! This is a particularly showy and eye-catching example of the species!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
