Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of gem turquoise from this famous historic locale!!! This locality was originally mined by the
ancient Persians and produced what is considered by many to be the finest turquiose known!!! Specimens are
rarely seen on todays market and this is OLD material!!! This specimen is mostly solid turquoise that has a "rind" of matrix in areas!!! The
turquoise has a gorgeous, choice blue color and is remarkably dense, fine, and has a slightly lustrous appearance - this is exceptional gem
grade material!!! The specimen has surprising heft for its size as well!!! In person it is immediately discernable that this is
unique, characteristic material from this premier ancient locality!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 13th!!!
