Turquoise pseudomorph after Beryl

Apache Canyon Mines, Turquoise Mountain, San Bernardino Co., California

1.16cm x .83cm x .64cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare example of turquoise after beryl from California!!! This specimen consists sharp single crystal of beryl that has been completely replaced by turquiose!!! Do not mistake this specimen for one of the relatively common turquoise pseudomorphs after apatite from Mexico - these turquoise after beryl pseudomorph specimens are mineralogically unique and very rare by comparison!!! This unusual find has been written about extensively and is the only such location where such pseudomorphs are known to occur!!! This specimen has sharp faces and rich blue color!!! Upon close inspection, one can see some small modified faces as well as some areas of surprising luster on some faces!!! Rare and unique material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
