Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of sapphire from Sri Lanka!!! Twinning in sapphire crystals is rather uncommon, and fine examples are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen consists of a sharply twinned pair of sapphire crystals!!! The crystal has a very slight alluvial appearance with good luster and gemmy clarity!!! The crystal exhibits characteristic color zoning, featuring stratified zones of varying shades of blue!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
