Uraninite with Uranophane & Muscovite Haddam, Middlesex Co., Connecticut 2.36cm x 1.45cm x 1.26cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of uraninite from Connecticut!!! This specimen hosts a complex grouping of octahedral uraninite crystals protruding from a muscovite matrix and partially coated with yellow uranophane!!! The main uraninite crystal exhibits a sharply defined, partially modified octahedral habit with several intergrown uraninite crystals positioned underneath!!! The lively yellow-orange uranophane is sandwiched between individual layers of muscovite which gives it a somewhat unique appearance!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
