Uranophane Madawaska Mine, Faraday Township, Bancroft District, Hastings Co., Ontario 3.1cm x 2.85cm x 1.9cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of this rare uranium bearing species!!! This specimen hosts a small vug that is filled with a spray of bright yellow, hair-like crystals of uranophane!!! The crystals stand out nicely against the darkly colored matrix and there is also a small single quartz crystal peched aside the uranophane as well!!! Curiously, this small quartz crystal has a thin, smoky phantom upon close examination!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
