Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible example of this rare silver and gold bearing species from the type locality - the Comstock Lode!!! This
specimen consists of a very rich showing of darkly colored uytenbogaardtite and native silver in association with pyrite,
quartz, stephanite (and likely related species in minor association)!!! The uytenbogaardite comprises the majority of the
darkly colored parts of the specimen and the native silver is present as a very rich network of veins and masses that
are closely associated with brecciated pyrite!!! A significant portion of this specimen is comprised of native silver -
much of the brassy, silvery areas are in fact native silver!!! It is
my understanding that the native silver likely has a significant gold content which results in its slightly golden
hue!!! This is a KILLER example of uytenbogaardtite - as well as a very rich native silver specimen from this
historic locality!!! This specimen was part of a pair of exceptional examples of uytenbogaardtite that came from
Forrest Cureton (a copy of the label will be provided)!!! Don't miss
out on this valuable and fantastic rarity!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 7th!!!
