Vandenbrandeite with Guilleminite, Malachite, & Torbernite Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire) 5cm x 3.1cm x 2.2cm Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of these rare uranium bearing species from the Congo!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of deep green vandenbrandeite crystals in association with bright yellow guilleminite crystals on a matrix comprised of massive malachite (with some other intergrown species) with a network of intergrown torbernite blades on the reverse!!! The vandenbrandeite crystals are present as groups of sharp, lustrous, well formed blades with numerous tiny bright yellow crystals of guilleminite in close association!!! Altbough it is difficult to see in the pics, the broad area that hosts a rich showing of intense yellow guilleminite is actually lined with sharp crystals of vandenbrandeite just below them!!! This specimen is way better than the pics show and is a fantastic example of these two rare species!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
