A unique example of this rare vesuvianite varietal from Finland!!! This specimen is labelled as "Jewrsinovite" which is an antiquated term for
vesuvianite!!! This locality is actually the type locality for Frugardite, a magnesium-rich vesuvianite varietal!!! Curiously however, this
vesuvianite specimen appears to have an extraordinary range of colors, ranging from blue-lavender to green to rootbeer brown - perhaps suggesting
a combination of vesuvianite varietals!!! The somewhat massive vesuvianite shows lustrous, parallel faces and marked translucence as well!!! The pics hardly
do it justice!!! This specimen retains an antique Schortmann's label dating to the 1940's!!!
