Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely outstanding example of vivianite from Florida!!! This specimen hosts numerous gem crystals of vivianite discretely perched
on a limonitic matrix!!! For their size, these are perhaps some of the finest examples of the species I have seen!!!
The vivianite crystals are present as razor-sharp, gem clear crystals prominently perched on the matrix!!! A number
of the crystals are doubly terminated as well!!! The crystals exhibit pronounced pleochroism - appearing bright
blue in one direction, light green in another direction, purplish in another, and various hues in between!!! The crystal's superb
quality combined with the unique color and pleochroism, and discrete prominent placement on the matrix combine to create a wonderfully aesthetic
example of the species indeed!!! Florida is a seldom represented locality in most mineral collections, as it is not known for its minerals!!!
These Florida vivianites are quite rare in comparison to those seen from other localities!!!
