Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible example of BLUE wavellite from a small new find in Arkansas!!! This specimen is from a tiny single
pocket that produced a handful of uniquely colored wavellite crystals!!! This specimen has an extraordinary BLUE to blue green
color - it actually exhibits a significant color change depending on the lighting!!! In sunlight or full spectrum fluorescent
lighting the specimen exhibits a unique blue green color that is unlike anything else I have ever seen in the mineral kingdom!!!
In regular incandescent lighting, the specimen exhibits a more bluish color that is unlike any other wavellite I have ever seen!!
They could easily be mistaken for a curious looking vauxite rather than wavellite!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition with
highly lustrous crystals that show marked translucence as well!!! In some small areas on the specimen one can see distinct color
zoning in the cross-section view of some of the "balls" of crystals!!! The "cores" of the crystal contain some tiny green areas while
the vast majority has this unusual blue color - the result is a very unique color expression indeed!!! The color is much more unique and dynamic than the pictures show!!!
You don't want
to miss out on this rare opportunity!!! The pictures don't even come close to doing this specimen justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
