Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible example of BLUE wavellite from a small new find in Arkansas!!! This specimen is from a tiny single pocket
that produced a handful of uniquely colored wavellite crystals!!! This specimen has an extraordinary BLUE to blue green color - it
actually exhibits a significant color change depending on the lighting!!! In sunlight or full spectrum fluorescent lighting the
specimen exhibits a unique blue green color that is unlike anything else I have ever seen in the mineral kingdom!!! In regular
incandescent lighting, the specimen exhibits a more bluish color that is unlike any other wavellite I have ever seen!! They could
easily be mistaken for a curious looking vauxite rather than wavellite!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition with highly
lustrous crystals that show marked translucence as well!!! In some small areas on the specimen one can see distinct color zoning
in the cross-section view of some of the "balls" of crystals!!! The "cores" of the crystal contain some green areas while the vast
majority has this unusual blue color - the result is a very unique color expression indeed!!! The few other specimens of this material,
representing the remainder of the find, are going to be featured by a well known high end mineral dealer in the very near future!!! These
rare blue wavellites are no doubt going to be a highly sought after one time find!!! You don't want to miss out on this rare opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
