Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely incredible example of BLUE wavellite from a small new find in Arkansas!!! This specimen is paired with a rare, freeform gem cut from the same material!!! This specimen is from a tiny single pocket that produced a handful of uniquely colored wavellite crystals!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of incredible, blue wavellite that shows an earlier growth of deep yellowish green peeking through!!! The botryoidal crystal clusters are comprised of sharp, well formed, lustrous crystals that exhibit marked translucence!!! This specimen has an extraordinary BLUE to blue green color - it actually exhibits a significant color change depending on the lighting!!! In sunlight or full spectrum fluorescent lighting the specimen exhibits a unique blue green color that is unlike anything else I have ever seen in the mineral kingdom!!! In regular incandescent lighting, the specimen exhibits a more bluish color that is unlike any other wavellite I have ever seen!!! They could easily be mistaken for a curious looking vauxite rather than wavellite!!! The cut and polished gemstone exhibits dramatic clarity and due to the species radiating crystal form it exhibits some unique optical properties that are very showy and dynamic in person!!! This material is incredibly unique and would be priced into the hundreds!!! This cut stone is simply amazing in person - there was no way to fully capture it in the pics!!!
