Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic and unique example of gemmy willemite from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a solid mass of gemmy willemite in association
with some andradite garnet and a small amount of hendricksite!!! The willemite is present in two colors - gemmy golden yellow and an unusual
reddish-maroon!!! The clarity ranges from near opaque to quite gemmy, however the specimen shows significant translucence throughout with several
significant areas of gemminess!!! One can clearly see that there are darkly colored, oriented inclusions of an unidentified mineral
visible within the willemite!!! Curiously, one might expect this specimen to show intense green fluorescence throughout - however the
intense green fluorescence is concentrated in parallel bands throughout the specimen!!! A very unusual willemite indeed!!! Old material that
came from Rutgers University!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
